Douglas DC-8 62
The DC-8 was one of the earliest jet powered commercial passenger
aircraft. It was the embodiment of advanced aerodynamic structural
concepts, as well as internal systems designed for maximum
service reliability, operational convenience and passenger
comfort.
The DC-8 was designed for improved power, payload and range
capacities. There were passenger, freighter and covertible
freighter versions produced, from the version 10 through the
version 50 and then the 'Super' 60 series, which incorporated
an extended fuselage, extra payload capacity, and long range
aerodynamic and power plant improvements.
